American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
The AFSP saves Lives and Brings Hope to Those Affected by Suicide. Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide, including those who have experienced a loss.
Arkansas IDEAS has some great videos on mental health and suicide prevention.
ArkansasIDEAS is a partnership between Arkansas PBS and the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, to provide online, statewide professional development courses and resources for K-12 Arkansas educators.
The Youth Suicide Prevention Awareness video covers the warning signs of suicidal youth, risk factors, intervention strategies, and facts and myths associated with youth suicide.
The Jason Foundation has many great resources to help you learn about suicide and suicide prevention, including curriculum for grades 3-5 called Bee the Friend and for grades 6-12 called A Promise for Tomorrow and even a downloadable cell phone app called A Friend Asks.
