Please be patient. This website is a work in progress.
You are not alone. đź’ś The world is brighter because you are in it!! Text or Call 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is there to help!!
BeYOUtifully YOU is a community service initiative dedicated to fostering self-acceptance, raising mental health awareness, and preventing suicide. Its mission is to create a supportive space where individuals, especially youth, feel empowered to be their authentic selves while addressing the growing challenges of mental health and the stigma surrounding it.
BeYOUtifully YOU has taken meaningful and intentional steps to advance mental health awareness and suicide prevention by combining education, advocacy, and creative expression. Through advocating for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), earning a “Be There” certification with the Born This Way Foundation, and completing multiple LivingWorks certifications—including START, safeTALK, and ASIST—this initiative is grounded in evidence-based suicide prevention training.Â
Through BeYOUtifully YOU, I created and host a YouTube vlog interview series to amplify honest conversations, and I travel to schools to read books that promote self-esteem and self-worth while presenting age-appropriate lessons that engage students in learning about mental health and suicide prevention. Through choreographed dance solos and artistic storytelling, the initiative encourages individuals to speak up, ask for help, and know they are not alone. Now expanding its reach, BeYOUtifully YOU is developing an official website to connect individuals, families, and communities with programs, education, and life-saving mental health resources.Â
It is my goal through BeYOUtifully YOU to create "It’s R.E.A.L." messages across social media platforms (stay tuned for more information), continue to advocate at the state level and also the federal level in Washington, D.C. for the AFSP, and secure mandatory mental health curriculum and programs in all high schools across Arkansas.
When someone is in crisis, knowing who to call can make all the difference.Â
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is designed to support people experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, substance use struggles, or suicidal thoughts. Trained counselors listen, help de-escalate the situation, and connect individuals with local resources and ongoing care.Â
911 should be called during immediate emergencies, such as medical crises, fires, crimes in progress, or other life-threatening situations that require urgent response from emergency services.Â
Together, 988 and 911 work to provide whole-person care, ensuring people receive the right kind of help at the right time. If someone is struggling emotionally and/or mentally, reaching out to 988 can be a powerful first step toward support and hope. If you or someone you know is in emotional distress, you can call or text 988 or chat via 988lifeline.org to connect with trained counselors 24/7.
Mental Health Affects Our Daily LivesÂ
Did you know that your mental health doesn't just affect you? Your mental health can affect how you drive on the road and, in turn, could affect the lives of other people. Please remember to keep your mind on the road and on your driving.
